I’m a Foodie. If it’s there, I’ll find it. And I did!
Taking a walk downtown Ripon, WI, stopping occasionally for some much needed window shopping, chatting with complete strangers along the way, with one mission in mind: J’s BBQ! It had been on my mind since I left Ripon in the summer of 2018. But wait. Right next door, I saw a sign, “The Other Side” and I stepped in.
A beautiful room, a friendly face behind a cozy bar. One look at the menu and I was hooked. The owners, Jen and Susan, who created the delicious BBQ meals of many of my cravings, expanded their culinary creations. Fish tacos unlike any others I’ve ever tasted, beef brisket bites that will inspire your inner poet, nachos covered in gooey cheese and other delicious morsels, right there. I’ve also found a hand-crafted cocktails, whiskeys, and bourbon menu in my hands, which I will further explore the next time. Perhaps with a little dessert, which I’m hoping will be added at some point. I can only imagine what their creativity and culinary skills could create for my sweet tooth.
To sum it up, “The Other Side” is beautifully designed and caters to my “I’m very comfortable here side”.
I didn’t feel like leaving, but I’m excited to come back.
