The Freedom Flame is a symbolic flame that is lit in in Ripon, WI and various locations around the world to commemorate freedom and the fight against oppression.

The Freedom Flame in Ripon, Wisconsin was lit by President Dwight D. Eisenhower on March 20th, 1954, during a ceremony to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the 1854 founding of the Republican Party in the Little White Schoolhouse of Ripon Wisconsin.

The Freedom Flame is meant to symbolize participants commitment to nonpartisan unity in freedom, democracy, and the rights of all citizens world wide, even behind the “Iron Curtain” according to his remarks from the 1954 ceremony. The Freedom Flame is still burning today.
