It sounds almost perfect.
And that may be exactly the problem.
Tonight, we’re taking the lessons of failed utopian communities like Ceresco and asking what happens when you scale those ideas from a small cooperative settlement to a nation of more than 300 million independent people.
We’ll look at:
💵 What happens to incentives when rewards become disconnected from effort?
🏭 Who actually produces everything government promises to provide?
📊 Can centralized planners ever know what millions of people need, want, and value in real time?
⚖️ Who decides what is “fair” — and who gets the power to enforce it?
🚫 What happens when people refuse to participate?
👔 If billionaires disappear, does power disappear too — or does it simply move to politicians, regulators, agencies, and bureaucracies?
🛒 What happens when shortages, rationing, black markets, and political favoritism enter the picture?
And perhaps the biggest question of the night:
Can you guarantee economic equality without eventually restricting individual freedom?
This is not a show arguing against compassion, charity, community, or helping people who genuinely need it.
It is a conversation about what happens when good intentions collide with human nature, economics, incentives, scarcity, power, and liberty.
Because history has repeatedly shown us something uncomfortable:
You can design the perfect system on paper.
But the moment that system requires perfect people to make it work…
you may already have a problem.
