Hi all, thought I’d post this here: being the most appropriate place to see if anyone else has experienced this strange anomaly…
Groundhog Day Movie: has been severely mutated in this dimension. There is a residual artifact of the full movie I remember (remember from a previous dimension), that can be located via a second revision screenplay written by Danny Rubin and the director of the movie Harold Ramis. This is a January 7, 1992 revised edition of the original script that apparently (in this reality) is no longer the shooting script; this is evidenced by the fact that Groundhog Day in this reality resembles nothing like this script.

To state that my mind simply overwrote the original movie after reading this revised January 7, 1992 script would be classified ludicrous (to me). I have read countless movie scripts over the years; spec scripts, 1st versions, 2nd revised versions, et al… and not once has my view been changed from a previous version of an original movie in existence by reading an alternate version of the script… including this one. No, to me, the movie I remember has simply been wiped from existence and replaced with a very strange version.
This is a serious bummer, cause the movie I remember had a fun surreal angle as to why Phil was trapped in a time-loop… his scorned (witch) of a girlfriend put him there, simply to capitalize on the fact that he ‘only has time for himself’… and what he got (via a voodoo ritual) was all the time in the world. But, now there’s no particular reason whatsoever for him being trapped in a time-loop… this reality is very pedestrian and unimaginative if you ask me. Anyone else remember the version I’m referring to?
