Apparently the early detection and warning system did not alert the community to the potential of impending doom. This now has caused many, including Ripon Common Sense to ask …Why?? Thunderous storms, hail and reports of tornado touch down in Ripon Wisconsin late last night.
Ripon home to the birthplace of the Republican Party, Little White Schoolhouse, and the “FREEDOM FLAME” woke this morning to heavy damage, downed power lines, and of course no power.
Many trees, some well over 100 years old split like toothpicks in what was reported as gusts of wind blowing at almost 120 mph.
The storm along with many other events where nature is speaking loudly are an eerie reflection on just how small as human beings we really are. Yet the sunshines today and still standing in its God given rays the Little White Schoolhouse and the “FREEDOM FLAME” where divided individuals entered the one room schoolhouse as Democrats, Whigs, and free soilers yet emerged united. United in “FREEDOM”.

No injuries or deaths were reported and the loudest local gripe this morning was; “WHERE IS MY COFFEE????”

The community and crews have begun the process of clean up, yet currently the power remains out throughout Ripon this afternoon.
