About this show
The Promises. The Partners. The Political Power.
Wisconsin’s November election is over. The winners have been declared. But what if some of the most important stories surrounding this election happened long before voters ever stepped into the voting booth?
Tonight, AJ the Ripon Rabbit takes you down an EXCLUSIVE two-hour investigative rabbit hole into the political journey of David Crowley, the Wisconsin Muslim Civic Alliance (WMCA), and a series of events that deserve a closer examination.
🔎 FOLLOW THE TIMELINE:
JULY: Crowley withdraws from a Muslim civic candidate forum, suspends his gubernatorial campaign, and endorses Sara Rodriguez. Days later, Rodriguez exits, Crowley reenters with Governor Tony Evers’ endorsement, and Mandela Barnes subsequently withdraws.
SEPTEMBER–OCTOBER: Following six weeks of private discussions with Muslim community leaders, Crowley receives the WMCA endorsement just as early voting begins.
THE EIGHT POLICY PRIORITIES: From government appointments and surveillance restrictions to legislation concerning Israel, business financing, and education funding; what did the organization request, and what did Crowley actually commit to?
THE ELECTION SCORECARD: We’ll examine WMCA’s full list of endorsed candidates, the election results, and the organization’s reported voter outreach efforts.
FOLLOW THE PARTNERS: Who are the national and statewide organizations connected to WMCA? What roles do political grantmaking, voter mobilization, and organizing technology play in Wisconsin elections?
AND WHERE WAS THE MAINSTREAM MEDIA? How extensively were these endorsements, discussions, and policy priorities examined before Election Day?
⚠️ HERE’S THE BIG QUESTION: Were Wisconsin voters given the complete picture of the commitments being discussed before they cast their ballots? ⚠️
We’re not asking you to take our word for anything. We’re opening the documents, examining the timeline, separating allegations from established facts, and asking questions that deserve answers.
The election may be over. The investigation is just beginning.
