About this show
Tonight, we’re tackling a controversial question that challenges our understanding of justice, punishment, transparency, and the value of human life.
🎙️ Join Screech Owl Scott and Red Owl as we examine the reported plans to livestream the December 3 execution of convicted Fort Hood mass shooter Nidal Hasan. His crime was horrific. His conviction is not in question. But tonight, we’re asking something different. Should the public be allowed to watch an execution?
⚖️ Is broadcasting an execution an act of government transparency or does it turn justice into public entertainment? ⚖️ Does the public have a right to witness the ultimate punishment carried out in its name? ⚖️ Would livestreaming provide accountability, or cross a moral and ethical line? ⚖️ And perhaps the most difficult question of all: Just because we CAN broadcast an execution, does that mean we SHOULD?
There are strong opinions on both sides, and tonight we want to hear yours!
🎙️ THE LINES ARE OPEN: YOUR VOICE. YOUR OPINION. YOUR SHOW!
Agree, disagree, challenge the premise, or bring a perspective we haven’t considered. We don’t expect everyone to think alike. We expect everyone to THINK!
